About SLP
The South London Partnership (SLP) is a cross-party sub-regional partnership of five boroughs. Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton work together where collaboration makes strategic sense, securing greater influence, powers and funding, and delivering better services for the residents and businesses of South London.
The Partnership is of the boroughs, for the boroughs. A core team works closely with Leaders, Cabinet Members, Chief Executives, senior officers and subject specialists in each of the five boroughs, as well as with London and national stakeholders. Together they have forged an ambitious programme of work that is securing real traction across growth, health, skills and employment, digital and transport.
At the heart of this is BIG Ambition, South London Growth, the Partnership's shared vision for driving the sub-region's economy forward. Aligned with the London Growth Plan, it sets out a roadmap to 2035, identifying key growth clusters and the investment needed to unlock South London's full potential. It strengthens the case for UK government support and devolution and tells a clear story about South London's future as a go-to destination for inclusive and sustainable innovation.
The Partnership's work is delivered by a core team of around 30 staff, the majority working on grant funded programmes with a current funded programme budget of £25 million. The team leads collaborative programmes spanning economic growth, employment and skills, health and care, digital inclusion, transport and climate change, working with partners including universities, colleges, the Integrated Care System, the Greater London Authority and London Councils.
The SLP is hosted by Richmond Council, with the Director employed by the Richmond and Wandsworth Better Services Partnership and working flexibly across all five boroughs.
